Recap of 2013

It's been exactly one years since I've written a post about fashion or the advancements in my life. All is well right now, and I have to say 2013 was great to me. I can break it down into bullets, or ramble on and on since the beginning of the 2013.

2013 In A  NutShell:

• For One My Mother is cured from cancer
• This is the year where I have so much more and no money lol (I'll explain further below)
• I got accepted into amazing schools, but isn't going (NEW YORK, NEW YORK Baby I'm still here)
• I've created a Tumblr, and an Instagram (I thought I would never conform, but I'm a journalist; we always have to try new things).
• I've lost some weight (about 10-12 pounds)

First Let Me Go into Depth of What I've Mentioned at the Top

Last year I've mention my mother was diagnosed with cancer. The chemo-therapy, and radiation was brutal on her body (inside). But physically my mother was gorgeous all the way through, she did not show any signs of sickness (except for her hair). Her sickness brought out the best and worst of people. My family ,both blood related and family-friends were amazing. My mom was made fresh cooked food weekly. My neighbors of course was, and still is an amazing factor in helping my mother in anything. Right now my mother's car is broken, she's been taking  public transportation for sometime now. But my neighbor Peter has seen her car sitting there, and he decided to fix it for her with no form of payment. Amazing Soul!

Mom's Last Day of Chemo

I just got an amazing job, that pays more! Yesterday! Seems like I'm moving into the New Year with a great start. My journalism career is moving forward nicely. But in the beginning of Spring 2013, my friend at York College gave me the opportunity to write for Cherry Martinez's website from Power 105.1. It's one of the leading stations of New York City. Of course I've taken it, and it was amazing. I briefly interviewed the Dream at the apple store. Covered events like Wale's album release party, and stood face to face with Kevin Durant (even though he played me...). It was a swell time for me.

I've also had my first article published in print, and became a Radio Talk Show Co-Host for YC Radio InCheck Urban! Mind you I was broke this whole time,but I have to say I put so much work into my career and gained so much experience. I didn't feel broke.

I got accepted to University at Buffalo, and Cortland University. But I'm Staying home! At first I didn't want to, but for some reason I feel as though I'll be missing out on something if I leave.

I've also kept my 2013 resolution, I lost weight! Not a whole load, but enough for my clothes to no longer fit me properly. I want to lose me, but I'll just do. I've also made amazing friends, and they just keep growing and growing! I love meeting new people now. Since I'm older, it's good to meet mature minded people like you.
